Causes of climate change: The most important cause of climate change is global warming. Camon emission and destruction of forests are accelerating climate change.
Impacts of climate change: The whole world is now facing the impacts of climate change. Climate change affects almost all ecosystems, societies, and economies. The intensity of flood, cyclone, and drought including the rise sea level is increasing gradually due to climate change. According to the United Nations, an estimated 2,00,000 deaths are caused every year due to climate change.
Who are the victims of climate change: The developed countries are responsible for global warming while the developing countries are the worst victims of climate change. The U.S.A and other developed countries are the biggest carbon emitters while the impacts of climate change fall upon the poor and developing countries.
A window of opportunity to act climate change: Climate change is one of tile greatest challenges facing the world today. To meet these challenges, most countries, back in 1992 joined the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change.
Reduction of global warming: The negative effects of climate change are felt all over the world, with heavy rainfall, devastating storms, and increasing drought. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the damage caused by global warming will be, irreversible if CO2 emission is not reduced within the next ten years.
Climate change and Bangladesh: Bangladesh is the worst sufferer of climate change. The country is highly exposed to adverse impacts of climate change mainly due to its geographical location. At least 30 million people in coastal Bangladesh are living under visible threats of climate change-induced disasters. The country will lose 17% of its land by 2050 because of rising sea levels due to global warming. It may force thousands of men to relocate.
What should Bangladeslt do: Change of climate is affecting greatly Asia. Bangladesh is under the great threat of global warming. We must create public awareness against global warming. The country will have to suffer natural calamities every year due to climate change and only plantation of trees can save the country. We should stop to use of the CFC and the other greenhouse gases.
