Computer-Its Uses:

Introduction: Computer is the most wonderful invention of science. It is a great success in modem technology. But it has no ability to do anything by itself. It works on the basis of commands given by the operator. It can solve many complex problems within a short time.

Invention: Computer is invented by the hard work of many scientists. Charles Bavez is called the father of modern computer. He invented the structure of computer first in 1833. His invented computer had five parts. These were Store, Mill, Control, Input, and Output. By following the structure of computer of Bavez, Harvard University and I B M company combinedly invented the modern electric computer in 1944. After this, it ha.s been rapidly modified and many other computers have been invented.

Classification of computer: At present many kinds of computer have been invented. Each of the special systems is called generation’. Now a days fourth-generation computer is being used. By this time; we have got UNIV AC-I; I C L-2900; I B M-640; ADSAC-205 computer. Electronic-tubes computer is made in place of electrical-relay computer. Now-a-days, only I C (Integrate Circuit) computers are active in the market

Working system: A computer performs three functions. It receives data, processes it and last emits it. At first, the details of work are put into the input of the computer. It is called programme. The computer does not work in our language. So the programme is to put in its own language. This programme is typed and produced in the teletype unite of the information input. The output prints the results with the help of the printing machine. Its signal goes to the memory and the control unit reads them and sends them to the output unit. Being informed the control unit makes signals to send them to the arithmetic unit. After finishing its tasks, it sends them to the resulting output. Thus the result is emitted by computer.

Usefulness: Computer is very useful to us. It is used in our daily life for various purposes.

(a) In education: Computer has made a great change in education. The students of developed countries use a computer to prepare their study materials. The result of various examinations is prepared accurately by computer within a short time. Besides, in printing thousands of books within a short time, computer contributes a lot to education.

(b) In medical science: At present computer is used to diagnose disease. A new proccess of operation is invented by computer as an alternative of surgery. Besides this, computer is used to grind stones in normal pathological test.

(c) In commerce: Now-a-days, computer is used to prepare document and budget and to store infonriation. The price of currency and price of any share can be known instantly with the aid of computer.

( d) In the industrial sector: At present, computer is used to run mills, factories and industries in developed countries. Cars, trains and planes are also run by the computer.

Demerits: Besides the uncounted uses of computer, it has some demerits. It weakens the eye-sight of the operator.

Conclusion: The computer is a blessing of modern science. We cannot go a single moment without it It lessens our work and makes our lives easy and simple. But it has not been fully introduced in Bangladesh. So we should use it all over Bangladesh.
