Dear Sir,

Re:Applying for emergency leave

I am writing this letter to request a leave of absence from work due to an emergency at home. I have been informed that my mother was ill this morning and has been admitted to the Health Care Facility.

I am sorry for the short notice of my request, but I need to leave the work at earliest. I have carried over my responsibilities to Mr. Atkinson, while I’m away. In case of any query, please feel free to call me on my phone. I shall report back to office as soon as I can.

I hope you will understand my position and grant me a leave for today (January 10, 2018) or three days (from January 11 to January 13). I apologize for the inconvenience caused you in my absence.

Yours faithfully,

Rodney Brown
