Life of a freedom Fighter

Posted By Compulsory English Leave a Comment

Introduction: Life of a freedom fighter is full of glory, pride and honour. Freedom fighters are the best sons of the soil. They made the supreme sacrifice by risking their lives. Many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the soil and people.

Description: A helpless freedom fighter from the village Pathakata under the district of Barguna Abdul Kuddus Mokter took part in Liberation War in 1971. He fought several times under the command of the then Major Mosharraf Hossain at Lemua of which he had lost his left leg.

His later life: Accordingly he became lame and unfit to work Since he became crippled But he had a family consisting of ten members. After the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the government led by the other political parties appeared to take an indifferent attitude towards the freedom fighters. In order to earn a living, he started a kitchen shop but fortune was plotting against him. Then, he started begging to maintain the family but the days went ill with him and they remained ill-fed and ill-clad. He could not bear the clutches of abject poverty anymore. One night he committed suicide taking poison to say goodbye to this unfeeling world where love, affection, and sympathy are non-existent.

What he gets from us: Abdul Kuddus, the proud son of the soil who brought us independence, dignity, and honour but in return, we gave him nothing except neglect and frustration. He never got any benefits from us. He lived below the poverty line. The freedom fighter Kuddus who had shed blood to liberate our country did not get his due honor.

The condition of other freedom fighters in our country: The proud sons of the soil, who were lucky enough to live, should be given due recognition and honour. But the freedom fighters, who got injured, are leading a miserable life. Many of them are without work and shelter. Their sons and daughters are unemployed. Many of them are living below the poverty line. The freedom fighters are seen to suffer very often.

Our duties to freedom fighters: Already there are a few facilities for the living freedom fighters and injured freedom fighters. Their facilities are hardly enough. Freedom fighters should get life long facilities. Their sons and daughters should be given better service and better salaries. The govt should ensure social security tor them so that these heroic sons of the soil can feel economically solvent and socially honoured. The freedom fighters should get topmost priority at any cost. They should be given state protocol.

Conclusion: Freedom fighters ate called the great sons of the soil. Their dream should be turned into reality. At the same time, attempts should be taken so that no freedom fighters face the fate of Abdul Kuddus, our beloved freedom fighter.
