My dear Mother,
I am glad to inform that I reached comfortably at the hostel last night. The room that has been allotted to me is quite clean, neat, spacious and airy and is shared by a classmate of mine . She comes from an educated family and is extremely polite, well-behaved and helpful. Both of us are almost of the same age and are sure of spending time joyfully.
On reaching here, I found every thing pre-arranged. I really felt great and elated, when the warden welcomed me heartily and showed me my room. Hot food and soft, comfortable bed made me forget the exhaustion of the journey.
Mother, I know that there is no place like home and it is not possible to forget the personal care and comforts, I enjoyed your care; but we have to sacrifice some thing precious for the sake of a bright future.
Even otherwise, affectionate attitude of the hostel staff, good messing arrangement and the friendly attitude of other girls in the hostel are sure to mitigate my feelings of home sickness and strangeness of a new place.
I assure you that I shall make full use of my stay here and progress mentally as well as physically. Hope you won’t get unduly worried about me.
