My dear Hamid,

At first, take my hearty congratulations. I received your letter yesterday. In your letter, you wanted to know about the reasons of my sitting for the BCS examination. Okay, here it is:

You know that BCS examination is the only way to enter a high ranking government post. You also know that I have a desire to be a gazetted-officer. In our society, it is considered prestigious. Besides, I come from a middle-class family. I have no other way to a get-such prestigious job as the BCS job. If I get this job, I can play a vital role in our society Since there is less pressure in a high ranking government service than a non-govt. service, I will have enough time for my family. If I get such a job, I will have the power to re-shape society from many wrongdoings. I can take a decision in my own way using laws. There is no other job having more power than this in the field. Considering all these, I have decided to go in for the BCS examination.

No more today. More when we will meet each other.

Your loving friend

Rafiq
