Write a petition for toll collectors in your locality.

Posted By Compulsory English 1 Comment

Write a petition to the Superintendent of Police urging him to take necessary measure to check the menace of toll collectors in your locality.

2 February 2020

To

The Superintendent of Police

‘X’ Thana

Subject: Prayer, to take measures against the toll collectors.

Sir,

We, the inhabitants of ‘X’ are now captives at the hands of the terrorists and the toll-collectors. The businessmen, professional men, and service-holders are passing their days in great concern. They often demand a large amount of toll on them. If anybody refuses to pay the toll, he is threatened with death. They also demand toll to the owners of the buses. A toll is extorted at gunpoint. When anybody builds his houses, the toll-collectors come to him and extort toll from him. Even the small traders, the hawkers, and the rickshawalas have to pay a regular toll to them. Sometimes they extort toll in the nose of the police. The activities of these toll-collectors have assumed such an alarming proportion that, if they are allowed to go on unchecked, it will be impossible for many people lo live in their homes.

I, therefore, request you kindly to take drastic measures against the toll collectors and bring back ease and peaceful atmosphere in the civic life of ‘X’ Thana.

Yours faithfully ‘A’

Subject:For taking necessary steps against the toll collectors
    Sir,
On behalf of the people of Gazipur, I would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that thelaw and order situation in this area has deteriorated a lot. The whole area is in the grip of the tollcollectors. Very often they demand a huge amount of toll from all classes ofpeople. It has become really difficult for business owners to run their businesses withoutsatisfying the toll collectors. Moreover, no construction or repair work is possible without givingthem a large amount of money. They possess unlicensed arms and the common people of thisarea are afraid of them. The toll collectors / extortionists are making our lives difficult andrisky.
I, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to take effective steps to stop themenace of the toll collectors/extortionists and ensure safety of the common people.
    Yours faithfully,
    Shamim Ahosan Rohan
On behalf of the people of Gazipur
