Introduction: Hobby means one’s favourite occupation but not one’s particular business. A man does not depend on it for his having. but it is not less important than his main business. It is an interesting way to enjoy our leisure.

Kinds of hobby: All great men like Byron, Einstein; Napoleon and Churchill had their own hobbies. The familiar hobbies are fishing, gardening, stamp collecting, cycling, painting, music, poetry, photography, travelling, petting and so on.

My hobby: I am a student and I have a hobby. It is gardening. My garden is in front of our house. It gets enough air and sunshine. It is divided into two parts- one part is for vegetables and another is for flowers. So it may be called a kitchen-cum-flower garden. I spend my free hours in my garden.

My care: Early in the morning I go to my garden. I loose the soil with a spade. I weed out the grass. I water the plants with my own hand. Each new bud and each new leaf delight me much. I give me a feeling that I am creating something great.

What grows: I grow many kinds of flowers namely-rose, sunflower, Karabi, Champa, Hasnahena. night queen etc. in my garden. The fragrance of flowers fills me with heavenly pleasure. Besides flowers, seasonal vegetables are also grown in my garden. They are enough for my family. Hence we do not require to buy vegetables from the market. This is indeed a great relief to my father and family.

Benefits of hobby: Absence of hobby creates voidness in our life. Hobby takes us out from the dull routine-bound daily life and equips us with fresh energy for work. My hobby has been proved helpful for my physical and mental health. It generates a sense of beauty and duty in me.

Conclusion: Hobby is an interesting way to enjoy our leisure period. It is great mental exercise. It refreshes our mind. It gives us the art of creativity.
